The Gillard’s “Macedonian Call” to Uganda from President Noah Isanga

Do you remember the Apostle Paul’s “Macedonian Call?” In Acts, chapter 16, Paul has just begun his 2nd missionary journey; he and his companions (Silas and Timothy) are trying to enter Bithynia but the Spirit of Jesus won’t allow them to do so. That night Paul receives a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him to, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” The mission team responds and the Gospel enters Europe for the very first time!

Now, I’m certainly not the apostle Paul, but I do have the privilege of having a clear invitation from the Lutheran Church Mission Uganda (LCMU) to “come over and help us” — a Macedonian call of sorts! You can watch the “vision” for yourself below. The man issuing the call is Mr. Noah Isanga, President of the LCMU. Be sure to hone in on his key phrase that best describes what the LCMU wants us to do in their midst — “capacity building” — that is, invest in their leaders, increasing their capacity to serve. Lord Jesus, may it be so!
