The Old Man Is Snoring

Shauen & Krista

The LCMU has been asking for a western missionary to be dedicated full-time to the work in Uganda for many years and they’ve been waiting patiently. As you know, at long last they’ve been promised the Gillard family. But it gets better.

In a post back in mid-April I mentioned a meeting with a special couple. I can now tell you that they are Shauen and Krista Trump and they are also being sent for service in Uganda.

The Trump’s will likely arrive several months after we’ve settled in. Shauen has just finished his coursework at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and will serve alongside me for 2 years as a vicar (intern). Krista has her own set of gifts and history that makes her service in Africa so appropriate and I’ll let you read all about it here or here. Please pray for our co-workers as they travel, develop partnerships, and prepare to enter a new culture. We’ll all be together at missionary orientation the middle of June and we’ll be sure to take a TEAM UGANDA photo and post it.

The LCMU must have been praying for “harvest hands” (refer to Matthew 9) because within the year they’ll receive not just 1 missionary family…but 2! As the adage goes, “When it rains, it pours!” Or, if you’re feeling romantic and into 80’s dance music you might shout, “It’s Raining Men! Hallelujah!” …missionary men, that is…
