Hello from Kampala

This is Jake and I’m writing from Uganda’s capitol, Kampala. I’ve been here for a full week and won’t get back to Michelle and the girls until the 22nd.

Uganda is wonderful. The leaders of the LCMU have been very helpful as I make preparations for the arrival of the whole family. I’m staying with Rev. Charles (no longer an LCMU pastor) and Eve Bameka and they’ve been especially helpful. Perhaps a dozen of you reading this have visited Uganda and love the LCMU as much as I am coming to love it. You should know that you have come up many times in greetings and conversations. The LCMU appreciates you Lutherans in America so much!

Expats at Lutheran World Federation (LWF) referred us to a trusted mechanic named Chipper who led us to a 1993 Toyota Landcruiser VX. It is exactly what we need.  Driving in Uganda is a trip!
