Agriculture & Christian Living

Linda & Delano Meyer serve in a unique but powerful capacity—as agricultural missionaries for LCMS World Mission.  They were successful farmers for 20 years in Minnesota but have served in West Africa for the last 15 years.

They’ve come to Uganda for the first time and are training our leaders at this very moment in topics such as:

  • Managing the Harvest
  • Farming God’s Way
  • Changes in the Environment
  • Caring for the Soil
  • Honoring God with your Body
  • Healthy Families

As you can see, it’s not just about agriculture–but Christian living, too.  Local leaders are equipped to train their own people in effective agricultural and development practices, to promote better care of the soil and livestock, and to encourage stewardship of resources.  Yet, in all these sessions they are able to give a clear Gospel presentation.

The workshops are free and open to the entire community so some of our congregations are using this as a “pre-evangelism” opportunity.

The Meyers flew out today.  They were well received wherever they went and invited back.  Workshops took place in:

  • Lukonda
  • Kamuli
  • Iganga
  • Ibanda
  • Masindi
  • Angetta

Thank you to all the local hosts and to Linda & Delano for their wonderful work.  We look forward to hosting you in Uganda again!
