Kampala Bombings: We are well

We go out as a couple for the afternoon once a week when Jacob is in town.  We often find ourselves at “The Ethiopian Village Restaurant” in Kabalagala (less than 1km from the Lutheran Media Ministry Uganda office). The food is great and cheap.

Unfortunately, that restaurant was one of two places bombed late Sunday night as fans watched the final match of the World Cup.   The initial death toll was 64 but it continues to climb as causalities die in hospital.

We woke up Monday morning to hear the news and we’ve been mourning as a nation ever since.  An incident of this nature wasn’t totally unexpected since warnings have been issued by the US Department of State and the terrorists themselves for some time but when these things happen so close to home, it forces you to face it and order your life differently.

Thank you to everyone who dropped us a note or made a FB post inquiring about our well being.  And thanks for your continued prayers for Uganda.
